Local Theaters

This section is dedicated to cataloguing the current conditions and statuses of Pittsburgh’s theaters, specifically the projection booths and significant architecture remnants. These theaters may be currently operating for uses other than theatrical film.

    Alvin Theatre

    Constructed 1891. Stripped in 2019. No current plans for reuse.

  • Stanley Theater

    Opened in 1928. Currently a performing arts venue. Projection equipment removed.
